On the way to the ornithological hide at the East end of the reserve, I noticed an isolated bright spot in the grass growing on the sand and gravel by the path. Black Terns and other special Gulls were wheeling around the island in the middle of the lake, Nightingales and Willow Warblers were singing in the undergrowth.
